Cris Hager-Coronel - Watercolor, Glass, Metal, Jewelery Designer/Artist
I was born in Mexico City , raised by two very creative parents, who encouraged me to develop love for the Arts. I grew up painting, designing and creating art. After retiring I decided to take some watercolor, glass manipulation and metal instruction.
I found from the beginning I enjoyed playing with watercolors. I love the feel of the paint on the paper and the movement of the water that creates its own music; I consider that I am not more than an instrument yielding to the nature of the water and color to display its own eruption, formation and design, I have been involved in creating art for about 10 years I have worked with other mediums such as , Glass , Pencil , Jewelry and Metal which I also find fascinating, I have displayed my work at the Tuscon International Airport, the Tucson museum of Art, I was a member of the Desert Artisan's Gallery, where I sold and displayed my art. I am a member of the CASA and the Pima Painting Club.
And participated at the Oro Valley Arts and Crafts Fair in Tucson, Az.

About two and a half years ago I retired and discovered that my art talent had returned. I now had the time and energy to take a course at the Parks and Recreation Department. It started out as one class and expanded to three but the one class is a chalk pastel class with Oasis. It is fun to work in more then one media. I took two years of art in college but gave it up to get a degree in History(social studies). Met and married my husband here in Tucson and we eventually settled here. We moved around alot just because it was fun. I even lived on a boat in LA harbor for three years. Drove a school bus while my children were growing up. We had the same vacations and it was a kick. I still like to drive and am on the go to LA and Phoenix all the time.

I am from Salina Kansas and moved to Tucson in 1972. I enjoyed painting in high School and at that time won a federated Art award in Wichita. I also took classes at Kansas University and Bethany College in art during the summers. It was after I raised my family that I started painting again.
I graduated from the University of Arizona in 1992 with a major in art and science. I also enjoyed careers at the University and Macy's. I have several exhibits and enjoy painting with our group on Mondays.
My husband and I enjoy camping so I do a lot of painting outdoors.
The beautiful landscape of Tucson and Arizona in general are really great inspirations.
